A digital video recorder (DVR) is a control device for the visual monitoring of a room. Cameras deliver a data stream that is fed to the Hyperstone processor via decoders and electronic switches. The processing of the video signal is performed there along with compression and movement detection. If an event occurs in front of the camera (i.e. movement), the data stream is recorded on a hard disk. Via an Ethernet interface, the operator can use any web browser to immediately access the system, including control and monitoring of the images.
